Temple Built During 700–728 AD

These Are Some Pictures Of Commemorative Board And Ancient Beautiful Shore Temple Built During 700–728 AD During The Reign Of Narasimhavarman II Located Along With Bay Of Bengal At Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, India. Shore Temple Is One Of The World Heritage Site Monuments Of Mahabalipuram Included In World Heritage List In 1984 A.D. It Is Situated At Sea Shore. So It Is Called As Shore Temple. It Is Built With The Blocks Of Granite. In Olden Times, The Sailors Gave The Name Seven Pagodas To The Shore Temple.
It Is Written On The Commemorative Board Of Shore Temple:
' The Two Structural Shrines Kshatriya Simheshvara (East) And Rajasimhesvara (West) Collectively Known As Shore Temple And Built By Pallava King Narasimhavarman II (Rajasimha) ( A.D 700-728),Mark The Culmination Of The Architectural Efforts Which Began With The Cave Temples And Monolithic Rathas. The East Facing Kshatriyasimhesvara Has A Sanctum Enshrining The Dharalinga And Somaskanda Panel. The Chatustala Vimana Kshatriya Simheshvara With An Incipient Gopura At The Entrance
And Dvitala Vimana Raja Simheshvara Are Proportionate And Adds Rhythm To The Whole Temple Complex. The Reclining Vishnu In Between The Two Shrines Is Carved Out Of Bedrock And It Ia Earlier. This Mandapas In Front of The Rajasimhesvara Shrine Is Extant Upto The Basement. The Entire Temple Complex Is Covered By Parakara Coped With Nandis.
The Shore Temple Is Being Affected By The Rough Sea And Salt Ladden Winds. The Efforts Undertaken by The Archaeological Survey of India Such as Construction Of Groyne Wall Paper Pulp Treatment And Casurina Plantation Have Checked The Effort.'
