' Park Your Vehicle in The Box Marked on The Road And Experience The Phenomenon That Defies Gravity.'
Magnet Hill is a Gravity Hill. The layout of the area and surrounding slopes creates an optical illusion that the downhill road is actually an uphill road. Objects and cars on the hill may appear to roll "uphill" in defiance of gravity when they are, in fact, rolling downhill.
Magnetic Hill is basically an optical illusion in which a slight downhill appears to be an uphill slope. The alignment of the road with the slope of the background can give the illusion that cars are able to drift upwards. The most important factor contributing to the illusion is a completely or mostly obstructed horizon; without a horizon, judging the slope of a surface is difficult as a reliable reference is missing.
It is believed to be at work behind this mysterious phenomenon is a magnetic force so strong that it can pull cars uphill. It is in fact so notorious that even the aircraft that fly over this region increase their altitude in order to avoid magnetic interference. Every tourist driver that passes through here would kill the engine to let the tourists experience how the car still kept moving.
