Bhai Ram Kishan Gurmat High School Shahpur city District Sargodha

These are photographs of English, Gurmukhi commemorative stones and British times beautiful building Bhai Ram Kishan Gurmat High School located at Shahpur city District Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. When this school was founded in 1919, Shahpur was a district. Now it is not district and part of Sargodha district. The foundation stone of Bhai Ram Kishan Gurmat High School Shahpur city was laid by Shriman Mahant Hira Singh Ji on October 4th, 1919. Donation of Rs. 2700 was donated by L. Thakar Dass Kumar in the memory of his dear father Late L. Ram Narain Ji who expired on 1st Fhagan 1991.

For better understanding about the precious history of this Pre-partitiion school, we need Roman translation of these Gurmukhi commemorative stones.

All these photographs are of English commemorative stone and British times grand beautiful building Sanatana Dharma High School Located at Gujrat, Punjab, Pakistan. It was built in April 1927. Sanatana Dharma High School G. T. Road Gujrat was opened by Sir George Anderson, M. A. K. I. C. I. E, the then Director of Public Instruction Punjab on April 27, 1927. It is now working as Gujrat University City Campus.

Inaugural and Hindi Donors stones describe this precious history:


1- " Sanatana Dharma High School Gujrat opened by Sir George Anderson Director of Public Instruction Punjab on April 27, 1927."

2- "Ye kamra lala Ishwar Das Marwaha Advocate ne apney swargiye pita shriman Lala Laddha Mall ji ke Smaran (yaad) me nirman karaya"

English translation: "This Room was built by the Advocate Ishwar Das Marwaha in memory of his late Father Shriman Lala ladha Mal ji."

3- "Ye Kamra Sanataan Dharm High School Gujrat ke vidhiyarthi gan (students) ne apna prem dikhane ke liye nirman karaya"

English translation: "This room was built by the students of Sanatan Dharm High School Gujrat to show their love."

O'Brien Islamia High School Shahpur

These are some photographs of English commemorative stones and British times O'Brien Islamia High School Located at Shahpur Sadar, Punjab, Pakistan. The foundation stone of O'Brien Islamia High School Shahpur was laid by B. T. Gibson, Esquire, I. C. S. the then Deputy Commissioner Shahpur District on May 31st, 1916. Now Shahpur is a Tehsil headquarters. The O'Brien Islamia High School Shahpur was then converted into Government College in 1929 and became Government property. B. S. Shihn was the Executive Engineer P. W. D. Lyallpur Division. The second stone was laid on 14th January 1933. Now this institution is working as Government High School Shahpur Sadar.

These are photographs of English/Urdu Commemorative Stones and Pre-partitiion building of Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani M. B. Primary School Located at Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab, Pakistan. Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani M. B. Primary School Dera Ghazi Khan was constructed in the year 1935 with the economical assistance of famous Philanthropist Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani Ji. Here is also a photograph of His Excellence the Governor 's Party gathered there at Dera Ghazi Khan in December 1933. Red circled personality in this group photograph is of Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani Ji.

Now this school is working as Government City Boys Primary School No 1 Dera Ghazi Khan.

Foundation stone of the school reads as below:

'This Foundation stone of Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani M. B. Primary School Located at Dera Ghazi Khan was laid by V. B. Stainton Esquire I. C. S. Deputy Commissioner Dere Ghazi Khan on 14th March 1935 A. D, 1st Chet 1991 Bikrami.

Second Urdu commemorative stone speaks as under :

'First Construction in 1935 with the cooperation of Dewan Tulsi Dass (5 Rooms with Verandah).
After long time, this rare structure of construction was not usable. But the students who got themselves educated here have proven their ability in different fields of life. One of these brilliant students is Mr. Nasir Mehmood Khosa who is Chief Secretary of the Punjab Province. The new building is constructed with his efforts in 2012 A. D. '

Walton Training School Located at Walton Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan

Our administration is much pleased to post the photographs of commemoratives brass plate preserved in glass case and British times grand beautiful building of Walton Training School built in 1929 A. D Located at Walton Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It housed temporarily at Lyallpur
from 12th January 1925 to 18th July 1929 and then shifted to this purpose built building in Walton Lahore. It was inaugurated On March 8th 1930

Member of the Railway Board and other highly ranked British Officers. ARIBA was the Architect and R.S.D.C. VERMA was Executive Engineer. In different eras, it was renamed as North Western Railway Training School, Pakistan Inter-Regional Railway Training College and Directorate of Research and Training. Now it is renamed as Pakistan Railways Academy from the year 2000. Pakistan Railway Academy Walton Lahore conducts Induction training and refresher courses for officials of various deciplions of Pakistan Railway and other countries.



It is written on inauguration brass plate of Walton Training School Lahore which is well preserved in glass case:

Shri Guru Nanak High School Mitha Tiwana District Khushab, Punjab, Pakistan

All These Photographs are Of Urdu, English and Gurmukhi commemorative stones and British times beautiful building of Shri Guru Nanak High School Mitha Tiwana District Khushab, Punjab, Pakistan. This school was Opened in 1865 A. D. The Gurmukhi inscription is very valuable. Dr. Subhash Parihar Sahib gives its English translation in this way:


It begins with a couplet of Saint Kabir which means: If I surrender to You what is already Yours, what does it cost me? ||203|| Guru Granth Saheb, page 1375.
After this it mwentions that "Rs. ten thousand donated by Sardar Sahib Sr. Sujan Singh, Sardar Sahib Sr. Sobha Singh, and Sardar Ujjal Singh of Hadali, for the building etc. of the dear Guru Nanak School. Samvat Nanakshahi 460", i.e. 1928-29 CE.
There is great possibility that Sardar Sujan Singh and Sardar Sobha Singh mentioned in this inscription were the grandfather and father respectively, of the renowned journalist Sardar Khushwant Singh. They did belong to village Hadali.




Urdu Commemorative Stone Erected on 06-10-2013 by Ch. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal Principal reads as Below :


' History of Government Higher Secondary School Mitha Tiwana '


This School was Opened in 1865 as Primary School and upgraded to Middle School in 1915. It became District Board High School in 1943 A. D. It became Government High School in 1947 A. D. Before the partition of the country, this school was in its ex building which is Girls High School and this school is shifted in the building of Guru Nanak High School and is working in the same building. It was upgraded as Higher Secondary in 1989 A.D. First Class of F. A was prepared in 1992 A. D. New splendid building is constructed for new classes. Now these classes are studying in the same building.'


Old Gurmukhi commemorative stone speaks as :


 ‘ ikomkar mera mujh mainkuch nahi jo kichu hai so tera tera tuj ko sompte kya laghe mera 10000rupey sardar sahib sardar sujjan singh sardar sahib sardar sobha singh ate sardar Ujjal singh handali niwasi ne piare Guru Nanak school de iamrat addd lai bent kite sambat nanak sahi 460.'
