Jahan Kosha Cannon Placed In Topekhana At Murshidabad

These Are Some Pictures Of Commemorative Board And Old Jahan Kosha Cannon Placed In Topekhana At Murshidabad, West Bengal, India. Topekhana Was The Nawab's Artillery Park. This Cannon Is Also Known In The Names Of "Great Gun", "Destroyer Of The World", "Conqueror Of The Universe" And "World Subduer" The Cannon Is Made Of 8 Metals i,e Silver, Gold, Lead, Copper, Zinc, Tin, Iron And Mercury. The Cannon Is 7 Tons In Weight, 17 Feet, 6 Inches In Length and 3 Feet In Width. The Circumference Of Its Mouth Is More Than 1 Foot. This Cannon Can Fire 17 KG Gunpowder.
This Big Cannon Was Made By Janardan Karmakar. He Made it Under The Instructions Of Daroga Shree Muhammad Under The Supervision Of Hara Ballav Das In 1637 AD. The Jahan Kosha Cannon Is Now Maintained By The Archaeological Survey Of India.

' The Great Cannon Known As Jahan Kosha Or The World Sub-Duer Lies As A Solid Testimony Of The Metallurgical Skill Of The Bengali Blacksmith Janardan Who Made it. It Measures 5.5 M In Length And Weighs More Than 7 Tons. According To An Old Inscription Engraved on It, It Was Made at The Instance Of Subadar Islam Khan During The Reign Of Shah Jahan In 1637 A.D'
