Ranthambhor Fort
Ranthambhor Fort is one of the strongest forts in India which formed significant part of The Chahamana Kingdom of Shakambhari. It is said to have been constructed by Maharaja Jayanta in The Fifth Century A.D. The Yadavas ruled over it till they were expelled by The Prithviraj Chauhan in The twelfth century. Hammir Deo (1282-11301 A.D) was the most powerful ruler of Ranthambhor who patronised art and literature and fought bravely against Alla-Ud-Din Khilji during a seize in 1301 A.D. Subsequently the fort was occupied the the Sultans of Delhi. Later on it came under control of Rana Sangha (1509-1527 A.D) and The Mughals.
The fort is situated amidst of tiger Sanctuary and is well strengthened by massive fortification provided with seven gateways namely Navlakha Pol, Hathia Pol, Ganesh Pol, Andheri Pol, Suraj Pol, Delhi and Sat Pol, Important monuments inside The fort are Hammir Badi, Rani palace, Kachehari, Chhoti Kachehari, Badal Mahal, Battis Khambha Chhatri, Jhanwra-Bhanwra (Granary), Mosque, Hindu Temples beside, Degamber, Jqin temple and a Dargah. Ganesh Temple is the most visited shrine inside The Fort.'
