It Is Specially About Gandhara Art From Swat And Pwshawar Areas. The Foundation Stone Of Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Museum Of Archaeology And Ethnology Was Laid By Honourable Ghulam Ishaq Khan, President Of Islamic Republic Of Pakistan On 30Th March 1989 A.D. The Inauguration Ceremony Of The Display And Exhibition Equipment Supplied By The Government Of Japan Under The Cultural Grant Performed By His Excellency Minoru Kubota, The Ambassador Of Japan On 24Th March 1998 A.D.
This Museum Is Dedicated To Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum (1864-1937). He Has Great Work In The Field Of Education And Politics For NWFP's People. With The Help Of British Roos Keppel, He Founded Islamia College Peshawar. Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Became First Chief Minister Of NWFP IN 1937 But Died In The Same Year.
