Khwaja Mir Dard Was Born In 1721 A.D And Died In 1785 A.D. He Is One Of The Best Early Poets Of Urdu Language. The Other Famous Urdu Poets Of His Times Were Mir Taqi Mir and Mirza Sauda. These Three Poets Are Considered As The Pillars Of Classical Urdu Ghazals.
Mir Dard Received His Education in an Informal Way at Home And Learned Arabic And Persian, As Well As Sufi Lore. He Also Developed a Deep Love Of Music, Possibly Through his Association With Singers and Qawaals Who Frequented His Father’s House.
Dard Was a Mystic And a Prominent Member of The Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Order. He Was The Head of The Muhammadi Path (Tariqah Muhammadiyah) in Delhi. He Considered The Phenomenal World As a Veil of The Eternal Reality And This Life As a Term of Excil From Teal Home. Dard Inherited His Mystical Temperament From His Father Khwaja Muhammad Nasir Andalib. His Father Was a Mystic Saint As Well As a Poet. He The founder of The Muhammadi Path.
Mir Dard Had An Ability to Transmute Mysticism Into His Poetry. He Presented Transcendental Love in Terms of Human and Earthly Love. His Ghazals Are Unambiguously Mystical in Their Intent. His Best Couplets Can be Read at Both The Secular and Spiritual levels. His Poetry Is Acceptable to All. In addition, Dard Generally Excels in Short Ghazals of About Seven to Nine Verses. His Style is Simple, Natural And Musical. His Poetry Includes a Collection of Urdu Ghazals And a Divan in Persian Language.
Dard’s Persian Prose Works Are Extensive. It Consists Of The Ilm ul Kitab, a 600+ page Metaphysical Work On the Philosophy of the Muhammadi Path. Here Is An Urdu Verse Of Khawaja Mir Dard
