Gurdwara Kandh Sahib located at Batala, East Punjab, India

These are some Photographs of History plate, Donors stone, Mud Wall and Old Historic Gurudwara Kandh Sahib located at Achli Gate, Batala, East Punjab, India. It derives its name from a Kachchi Kandh (mud wall) linked with Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj.


This is the holy place of Shri kandh sahib where Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji in samvat 1544 came from Sultanpur Lodhi as groom and sat on this seat besides the wall of this intersection. One old lady came and said that this wall is not strong and could fall off any moment and you should move from here. Guru Nanak Dev Ji replied 'Oh innocent lady this wall would remain here for centuries as a memorial for our wedding'.

Gurudwara Shri Kandh Sahib ji da
ih uh pavitar asthan hai jithe Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji samvat 1544.vikrami wich sultanpur lodhi to shadi karan aye lade de rup wich barat de nal is churahe de thade upar aa k is kandh de heth biraje san jado ik mai ne Guru ji nu kiha c k bacha ih kandh kachi hai ate dhehan wali hai tu itho uthke  pare ho ja -ta guru ji akhia mata bholiye ih kandh jugo jug kayim rahegi ate ih kandh sade viyah di yadgar hovegi.

English translation :

This is the holy place of Shri kandh sahib where Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji in samvat 1544.vikrami(month&year) came from Sultanpur Lodhi as groom and sat on this seat besides the wall of this intersection. One old lady came and said that this wall is not strong and could fall off any moment and you should move from here. Guru nanak dev ji replied 'oh innocent lady this wall would remain here for centuries as a memorial for our wedding'.
