This War Memorial is built in memory of the members of the 49th Bangalee Regiment who died in the Great War 1914-1919 to the glory of God, King & country. The names of the the soldiers written on commemorative stone are Sepoy Bhagirath Panda (Burdwan), Sepoy Bagalacharan (Burdwan), Sepoy S. Mukherjee (Burdwan), T. Naik Dhirendranath Chatterjee (Barisal), Sepoy Benode Chandra Ghosh (Barisal), Sepoy Bisweswar Indu (Barisal), Sepoy Atalchandra Ghosh (Barisal), Radhicamohan Dev (Dacca), Sepoy Suresh Chandra Bose (Dacca), Sepoy Satyanarayan [Dacca], Sepoy Abdul Rahman (Dacca), Sepoy Jagadish Chandra Bose (Dacca), Sepoy Shamal Bhattacharya (Dacca), Sepoy KamakshyaDev (Dacca), Sepoy Bholanath Chowohury (Bogra) and Sepoy Tarakchandra Sirkar (Bogra).
