Imam Bargah Syeda Mubarak Begam Bhati Gate Lahore

Salam Ya Hussain A.S

These are photographs of Persian poetic commemorative stone, interior and exterior of Pre-partitiion building of historic Imam Bargah Syeda Mubarak Begam located inside Bhati Gate walled city Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Imam Bargah is the worship place of Shia Muslims where great grief of Martyrdom of Mola Hussain A.S and his companions at Karbala is also celebrated with religious devotion. Here are also some photographs of other commemorative stones/boards, Headstones and graves of Syeda Mubarak Begam and Sir Syed Maratab Ali. Sir Syed Maratab Ali was a prominent and successful businessman and supplier of British Railways. Syeda Mubarak Begam was the wife of Syed Maratab Ali. She was daughter of Syed Iftikhar Udin of famous Faqir Family. Syed Maratab Ali and Syeda Mubarak Begam had three sons named Syed Amjad Ali (Ambassadar of Pakistan in USA), Syed Babar Ali (Famous Businessman) and Syed Wajid Ali (Pioneer of Television in Pakistan & President Pakistan Olympic Association). The land for Imam Bargah Syeda Mubarak Begum was purchased in 1940. Present custodian of Imam Bargah Syeda Mubarak Begum Lahore  is Syed Babar Ali. Naqash School of Arts is also working in the building of Imam Bargah Syeda Mubarak Begum.

On a commemorative stone, there are written 14 infallibles(Masoomeen) i,e  Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), Imam Ali A.S, Hazrat Fatima A.S, Imam Hassan A.S, and Imam Hussain A.S, Imam Zain ul Abidin A.S, Imam Muhammad Baqar A.S, Imam Jaffar Sadiq A.S, Imam Musa Qazim A.S, Imam Ali Raza A.S, Imam Muhammad Taqi A.S, Imam Ali Naqi A.S, Imam Hassan Askari A.S and Imam Mahdi A.S. Naad e Ali is written On the same commemorative stone in this way:

Dr. Subhash Parihar Sahib helps me in Deciphering the Persian poetic inscription which records the date of erection of the bright place [the Imambara] by a lady named Mubarik Begum, wife of R’es al-Qaum Sir Sayyid Maratab Ali Saheb. The verses are in praise of its builder and the building which is dedicated to the son of Zahra [Imam Hussain A. S ibn ‘Ali A. S]. The last two lines contain the chronogram of the date of erection —“Matam Sarai Shah Shahda”, i.e., the place of mourning of the king of martyrs [Imam Hussain A. S] which yields the year 1368 Hijri, also given in numerals. On the left lower corner appears the name of the calligrapher or the poet i,e Almas Raqam.
