Shahi Qila which is known as Pucca Qila was built by Kilhorra ruler of Sindh Haji Muhammad Shah in 1768 A. During the government of Talpur over Sindh, in 1789, Mir Fateh Ali Khan settled in Hyderabad after leaving Khuda Abad. He settled in this Fort and established his court as well. This fort covers an area of 38.12 acres. Its walls are made with baked bricks very nicely on the top of these walls kingrays are built. The fort has one entrance gate which opens in front of Shahi Bazar towards North. During British era, artesians lived here in huts. After the emergence of Pakistan, a large number of people settled here and a city sprang in the Fort. Besides this, there is also a good monument inside the fort which is called as 'Mir Haram'. It was built in 1784 during the reign of Mir Fateh Ali which consists upon a room and decorated its corridor with wooden grille. This room has four door at the middle of every wall. In 1843 after the defeat of Miani battle, the British Authorities captured the fort and some portion of the fort some other buildings were demolished. Afterwards in 1857, the Britishers demolished remaining buildings for the accommodation of army and armed store."
