All these photographs are of English commemorative stones/boards and British times grand beautiful building of University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences located at Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It was originally established as a school in 1882. The present main building of the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore was opened in 1915 as Punjab Veterinary College. This historical institution was upgraded as University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences in 2002. Five faculties i, e Faculty of Veterinary Science, Faculty of Animal Production & Technology, Faculty of Bio-Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management and Faculty of Fisheries & Wildlife with 23 departments are educating the youth. City Campus Lahore, Ravi Campus Pattoki, Avian Research & Training Center Ferozepur Road Lahore , College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Jhang and the Para Veterinary School in Karor Lal Easin, District Layyah are five campuses of University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore. The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore offers 20 undergraduate, 30 M.Phil, 22 Ph.D programs, 3 diploma courses and certificate courses. "Provoking Potentials, Producing Professionals" is the motto of UVAS Lahore. University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore is publicly famous as Ghora Hospital. First time in my life, I see Animal Ambulance in UVAS Lahore. The office of Society for Preservation Cruelty to Animals Punjab is also working here inside UVAS Lahore. 

The names of the Principals of University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore from 1882 to 2002 are Lt. Colonel G. Kettlewell, Captain J. A. Nuno C. I. E., Major H. T. Peaso, Major A. Smith, Col. H. T. Peaso, Col. G. K. Walker, W. Toyler, J. S. Garewal, Major A. C. Aggarwal, S. M. Sarwar, S. I. A. Shah, S. D. Ahmad, S. M. Sarwar, W. M. Khan, Aziz Ahmad, Captain M. Ashfaq, S. D. Ahmad, Dr. M. Maqsood, S. M. A. Hussain, Captain M. Ashfaq, Dr. M. Irfan, Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Qureshi, M. Tufail Khan, Dr. M. Irfan, Dr. M. Ajmal, Prof. Rashid A. Chaudhry and Dr. Saghir A. Jafari. The names of Vice Chancellors from 2002 to till now are Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmad, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nawaz and Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha. Before partition, this institution educated Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian students whoes names are written on the boards of Honour. Some names of Medalists are Hira Lal, Radhay Mohan, Lim Seang Chye, Gian Singh, Madan Lal Kalia, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Muhammad Ishaq, Ram Gopal, W. G. Harding, Premnath Kak, Abdul Salam and W. H. Dean.


Commemorative stones/ commemorative Metal plates erected on various buildings of UVAS Lahore reads as below :

1 - 'Punjab Veterinary College opened by his Excellency the Right Honourable Charles, Baron Hardinge of Penshurst P. C., G. C. B., G. M. S. I., G. M. I. E., G. C. M. G., G. C. V. O., I. S. O., Viceroy and Governor General of India December 1915.'

2- ' S. P. C. A Triugh presents 3 M. S. F. Carl Seager 1943.'

3-' The Governor of the Punjab/ Chancellor University of Veterinary And Animal Sciences HI(M) HI laid the foundation stone of this administration block on July 16, 2003.'


4-' Staircase hall/ Vice Chancellor 's Secretariat renovated Feb2008 inaugurated by Dr. Muhammad Amjad Federal Minister, Inter Provincial Coordination.'

5-' University of Veterinary & Animal  Sciences Lahore inaugurated by Kt. Gen. (R) Khalid Maqbool HI(M) HI, Governor Punjab on June 15, 2002.'

6-' Lecture Toom No 1 renovated by Engro Foods Ltd inaugurated by Mr. Ali Ahmad Khan, Managing Director, Engro Foods Ltd. December 21,5017.

7-' Postmortem Block inaugurated by The Governor of the Punjab/Chancellor Lt. Gen. (R) Khalid Maqbool HI(M), HI on Friday the 25th May 2007. '

8-'Renovation of Post Graduate Pathology Lab. In the memory of Chaudhry Noor Elahi through donation of his son Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry Chairman, Department of Pathol
