Government Punjab Public Library Lahore



These are photographs of English/Urdu commemorative stones and old and new buildings of Government Punjab Public Library located at Library Roar Anarkali Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Punjab Public Library Lahore was established in 1884 by the British Authorities. Initially it was opened in the building of Mughal times Governor of Lahore, Nawab Wazir Khan' s Baradari. Now this Baradari has newspapers section. The library shifted to its new adjoining building constructed in 1939. The Government Punjab Public Library Lahore has a variety of books on different subjects in Urdu, English, Punjabi, Persian and Arabic.


 English and Urdu commemorative stones reads as under :

1- 'This stone was laid by the Hon'ble Mian Abdul Haye Minister of Education on March the 19th 1939.'


2- ' New block of Punjab Public Library
was Inaugurated with the hands of honble Barister Usman Ibrahim on 4th February 1992.'

3- 'The foundation stone of E library/Digital library of Government Punjab Public Library Lahore was laid with the hands of Dr. Zaheer Ahmad Babar Director General Libraries Punjab on 14th April 2018.'
