All these photographs are of English/ commemorative stones and British times grand beautiful Lawrence College Located in the scenic beauty of Ghora Gali Murree Hills, Punjab, Pakistan. Lawrence College Ghora Gali Murree Hills was established in 1860. British soldier and statesman Sir Henry Montgomery Lawrence was founder of Lawrence schools in Sub-continent to educate the Orphans of British soldiers who died in wars. He died on 4th July 1857 defending Lucknow. Lawrence College was established in memory of Sir Henry Montgomery Lawrence. Lawrence College was initially founded as Lawrence Memorial Asylum. Lawrence College Ghora Gali Murree is considered as an icon of quality education in Pakistan. The students of Lawrence College Ghora Gali are called as Gallians. The college have its own library having unique pictures galleries of Quaid-e-Azam and Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, splendid College Chapel, museum, gymnasium and hospital. The names of Principals from 1860 till now are Reverend H. W. Tabernacle, Reverend B. Dexter, Reverend Smithswhite, Reverend G. C. Peake, Reverend W H G Padfield, Reverend C. H. Brown, Reverend H. W. Bush, Reverend H. T. H. Wightwick, Reverend W. Eyre Walker, Reverend. W. T. Wright, Reverend Canon W. Francis Cotton, Mr. A. S. Collier, Mr. H. L. Edwards, Mr. S. T. Thurley, Ch. Abdul Hamid, Mr. H. L. O. Flecker, Nr. S. Muin-Ud-Din, Nr. M. L. Charles Worth, Lt. Col. A. Hamid Ibrahim (R), Brig. Mohammad Rafiq (R), Brig. S. Safdar Nawab (R), Brig. Shauqat Khurshid (R), Brig. Saeed Ahmad (R), Prof. Mohammad Asif Malik (Pride of Performance), Brain Robert Manthorp (Bob Manthorp), Mr. Noor Mohammad Khan, Air Cdre (R) Farooq H. Kiyani, Brig (R) Abdul Hafeez SI(M) and Brig (R) Mujahid Alam. The motto of Lawrence College Murree is 'Neve Give in.' There are unique monograms of Lawrence College Ghora Gali Murree, Walker House (Motto: Onward and Upward), Wright House (Motto: Unity is Strength), Peake House (Motto: Difference Not Defiance) and Wightwick House (Motto: Serve With Valour) in front of reception. These houses are for students accommodation. There is a small British Cemetery inside Lawrence College Murree. Old Gallian paid their share inThe World Wars and wars between Pakistan and India. Yadgar-e-Shuhada in memory of old Gallian officers of Pakistan Army who Martyred for their country is also built by the college administration. Government of Pakistan issued 20 rupees commemorative coin on eve of 150 years celebrations of Lawrence College Ghora Gali Murree. I would like to share 'Gallian code of Honour' that is framed in Lawrence College Murree :

° I shall always uphold the name, honour and respect of my college.
° I shall always uphold the name, honour and respect of my country.
° I pledge to sacrifice the last drop of my blood for the protection, honour, respect and prosperity of Pakistan. '


Old and new commemorative stones erected at the building of Lawrence College Ghora Gali read as under :

1- 'This stone was laid by his honour Sir Michael Francis O'Dwyer K. G. S. L. Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab & its dependencies. April 10th, 1915 A. D. J. Begg. Architect.'

2-' Khaqan Abbasi Blocks inaugurated on 16th June 1988 by Lt. Gen. Ahmad Kamal Khan HI(M), SI(M), S. Bt. '

3 -' de Montgomery Hall 1932'

4-'Walker House 1965 opened by Major General Akhtar Hussain Malik C
