A Tribute to Pak Army




These Photographs are Of English/Urdu Commemorative board and Bust of Field Marshal General Muhammad Ayub Khan (Nishan - e-Pakistan, Halal-e-Pakistan, Halal-e-Jurat) Located inside Pak Army Museum Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. General Muhammad Ayub Khan took over Government of Pakistan in 1958 and became first Field Marshal. He introduced new constitution in 1962. He also introduced Family Laws. His Government continued till 1969. During his Government, the situation of Pakistani Economy was very excellent.



The Historic Information Written on Commemorative Board is as under:



' Field Marshal Mohammad Ayub Khan

Field Marshal Mohammad Ayub Khan received his basic military training at  Royal military Academy cademy Sandhurst (UK). He was commissioned in 1 Royal Fusiliers Regiment on 2 February 1928. Later he served in 1/14 Battalion of Punjab Regiment) Redesignated 5th (Sherdil's) the Punjab Regiment and also commanded it. He saw action in Burma during the second world war.



A graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta, he served on several Command and Staff appointments.


While Serving in British Indian Army he served as president of Services selection board (SSB), Dehra Dun, India. After independence he commanded Gardai Brigade in 1947 and 14 Infantry Division in Dhaka(East Pakistan) during 1948. He also served as Adjutant General and Deputy Commander-in-Chief Pakistan Army. He was the first Pakistani to be appointed as Commander-in-Chief of Pakistan Army as a Lieutenant General in 1951 and was promoted to the rank of General in 1957. He relinquished Command of army in 1958 and was elevated to the rank of Field Marshal. '
