These are photographs of English commemoratives stones and British times grand beautiful building of Former Balak Ram Medical College situated at Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Balak Ram was the son of Sir Ganga Ram Agrawal. Balak Ram Medical College was established in 1944 by the family of Sir Ganga Ram. At the time of Independence, Balak Ram Medical College was abandoned and in 1948, Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore was established in the premises of Balak Ram Medical College. Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore provides Medical education to females only. Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore is affiliated and attached with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore. Now Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore is upgraded as Fatima Jinnah Medical University.


English inscription written on opening stone of Anatomy and Physiology Block reads as under:

 'Balak Ram Medical College Anatomy And Physiology Block opened by Shirimati Sarojini Naidu on Sunday The 6th of January 1946.'

These are photographs of Urdu commemorative stone and buildings of Sikh times three Samadhies of Raj Kaur (Second wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Mother of Raja Kharak Singh) , Chandar Kaur (Wife of Raja Kharak Singh and Mother of Naunihal Singh) and Sahib Kaur (Wife of Naunihal Singh) located inside Government Islamia College Civil Line Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

'Brief Introduction of Smadhies'

1- Smadhi of Raj Kaur(Datar Kaur) Commonly known as Nakaen Kaur
Raj Kaur was the daughter of Nakai Sardar Ran Singh of Pattoki, second wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Mother of Raja Kharak Singh. When Ranjit Singh got married with her in1798 A. D., He lovingly named her as Nakaen Kaur (Mai Nakeen). Nakaen Kaur died on 20th June 1837 A. D.


2- Smadhi Chandar Kaur

Chandar Kaur was the wife of Raja Kharak Singh and Mother of Naunihal Singh. She became Maharani of Punjab on 2nd December 1840. She was forcefully separated from Raj Gadi on 17th January 1841 A. D. Her unexplicable death happened on 11th June 1842.

3- Smadhi Sahib Kaur

In 1837, Sahib Kaur got married at the age of 16 years with Naunihal Singh, the son of Kharak Singh. She was beloved daughter in law of Maharani Chandar Kaur. Sahib Kaur died in 1841 A. D.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore is a trust hospital containing 550 beds. Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore was initially established in 1921 inside walled city of Lahore by renowned Pre-partitiion Philanthropist and Civil Engineer Sir Ganga Ram Agrawal and in 1943 this Hospital was shifted to its present location to fulfill the growing demands for medical and health care services. Architect & Engineer of new building of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore was Mr. T. R. Mehandru. Before 1947, Balak Ram Medical College was attached with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital which was abandoned at the time of Partition of Sub-continent. Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore was established in the building of Balak Ram Medical College. Now Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore is affiliated with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore.

Punjab Boys Scott Headquarters located at Walton Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan

All these photographs are of English commemorative stones and Pre-partitiion British times beautiful building of Punjab Boys Scott Headquarters located at Walton Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The foundation stone of this building as Hostel of the College of Physical Training & Scotting was laid by then Chief Justice Sir Douglas Young on June 7, 1939 and opened by His Excellency Sir Henry Craik Bart K. C. S. I., the then Governor of the Punjab in January 1940. This splendid building was built with the funds provided by renowned personalities of United Sub-continent belonging to all religions i, e Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, Sikhism and Ahmadi. Some of these famous people are Sir Geoffrey de Montgomery, Sir Douglas Young Chief Justice, Bawa Dinga Singh, Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi of Bhawalpur, His Highness Raja Lakshman Singh Chamba, Maharaja Indra Prakash Bhadur Sirmoon, Justice Abdul Rahman Delhi, Nawab Sir Shah Nawaz Khan of Mamdot, Major General Sir Umar Hayat Khan Tiwana, Sir William Roberts Khanewal, R. B. Narain Das Karachi and Hazrat Khilifatul Masih II, Chief of Qadian.

The office of Bab-e-Pakistan Foundation is also working in the premises of Boys Scott Headquarters Waltan Lahore.

Precious Historical facts written on five commemorative stones erected at the building of Punjab Boys Scott Headquarters Waltan Lahore read as under :

1- 'This Foundation stone of the Hostel of the College of Physical Training & Scotting was laid by Chief Justice Sir Douglas Young on June 7, 1939 by his unflagging zeal and generous gift of many friends this Hostel has been erected and dedicated to the Youth of India (Some writing not readable).'


2- 'Young Hostel opened by his Excellency Sir Henry Craik Bart K. C. S. I., Governor of the Punjab January 1940.'

These are photographs of Gurmukhi writing from Guru Granth Sahib and small domed building of Udasi place of Sikh Udasi sect located at Chak # 200 G.B District Lyallpur (Faisalabad), Punjab, Pakistan. Udasi sect in Sikhism was firstly introduced by the younger son of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji named Shri Chandar Ji. The Udasi followers spend their lives like Sufi Saints.

E. S. It was built in pathetic memory of his seventeen loving family members who perished their lives on 31st of May 1935 in Quetta earthquake incident.

These are photographs of English/Urdu Commemorative Stones and Pre-partitiion building of Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani M. B. Primary School Located at Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab, Pakistan. Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani M. B. Primary School Dera Ghazi Khan was constructed in the year 1935 with the economical assistance of famous Philanthropist Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani Ji. Here is also a photograph of His Excellence the Governor 's Party gathered there at Dera Ghazi Khan in December 1933. Red circled personality in this group photograph is of Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani Ji.

Now this school is working as Government City Boys Primary School No 1 Dera Ghazi Khan.

Foundation stone of the school reads as below:

'This Foundation stone of Dewan Tulsi Dass Sota Varmani M. B. Primary School Located at Dera Ghazi Khan was laid by V. B. Stainton Esquire I. C. S. Deputy Commissioner Dere Ghazi Khan on 14th March 1935 A. D, 1st Chet 1991 Bikrami.

Second Urdu commemorative stone speaks as under :

'First Construction in 1935 with the cooperation of Dewan Tulsi Dass (5 Rooms with Verandah).
After long time, this rare structure of construction was not usable. But the students who got themselves educated here have proven their ability in different fields of life. One of these brilliant students is Mr. Nasir Mehmood Khosa who is Chief Secretary of the Punjab Province. The new building is constructed with his efforts in 2012 A. D. '
