All These Photographs are Of Urdu Commemorative Stones and British Times Grand Beautiful Building Of University Oriental College Punjab University Founded in 1870 A. D Located at Old Campus Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. University Oriental College Lahore is One of The Oldest And Well Reputed Educational institutions of Sub-continent and South Asia. The Departments Of Punjabi, Urdu, Persian And Kashmir Studies Are Working In University Oriental College's Premises. Here Are Arrangements Of Study of M.A, M. Phil and Ph. D in These Departments.


University Oriental College is Well Known Due To Its Authentic Research Contributions. This College is Publishing Six Higher Education Commission Recognized Research Journals From Its Various Departments. The Names of These HEC Recognized Journals with Relevant Departments Are 'Khoj' (Punjabi Department), 'Baziafat' (Urdu Department), 'Safeena' (Persian Department), 'Sangarmaal' (Kashmiriat Department),, 'Tahqeek' (Faculty Of Oriental Learning) And Oriental College Magazine that is Continuously Publishing From 1925. Besides These Research Journals, another Magazine named 'Sharaq' Represents Creative and Literary Writings of Students. The number of books in Oriental College Library is over 100000.Every Department Has Its own Library separately as well.

For assistance in Education and Research, There are Computer Lab with Internet Facility and a Language Lab with modern Equipments. Internet facility through WiFi is also provided to the Students by Oriental College Administration.

University Oriental College Remained Working in a portion of the Building of Government College Lahore (Government College University) from 1877 to 1912 A. D and Performed its Educational and Research Services in Old Building Of Convent from 1913 to 1925 A. D. There are Different Research Chairs Working In University Oriental College i, e Hajvary Chair, Firdosi Chair, Rumi Chair and Dr. Faqir Muhammad Faqir Chair.


There are Working Students Literary Organizations Under the Supervision Of University Teachers in University Oriental College Lahore . 'Anjamun-e-Urdu' is Literary Organization of Department of Urdu. Ponch House Located At Multan Road Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan

These are some Photographs Of English Commemorative Stone And Old Historic Ponch House Located At Multan Road Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.The Trial of Famous Character of Indian Independence Bhagat Singh was Held in this Historic Building on 5th May 1931. There is Written a Urdu Poem entitled 'Virsa' By Poetess Faiza Mughal Describing The Importance of Heritage.


English Commemorative Stone Describes The Following Historical Facts About Ponch House.


'Ponch House'

'Ponch House Was Basically A Residential Building Which was built in 1849 during the reign of Maharaja Duleep Singh as Residence of Lord Lawrence When He In Lahore for Objurgation of Sikh Army.

Total area of the building is 210K_11M_19959ft and according to the Revenue Record, this land consists upon Khasra Number 4552 which belonged to Raja Jugat Singh. In 1962 According to Government Notification, this Building Was handed over to Federal government.

After This, This Banglaw was under control of Charles Boulnois Barister Chief Court. Then it was in use of Chief Judge Sir Meredith Plowder.

The Trial of Famous Character of Indian Independence Bhagat Singh was Held in this Historic Building on 5th May 1931.

After the Emergenc of Pakistan, the offices of Industry Department were transformed in the building of Ponch House and still this Building is in use of Industry Department. With the passage of time, other offices of Forestry Department, Minerals Department, Cooperative Department and Punjab Health Foundation were shafted in the building of Ponch House.

A hall of this building is using as Court of Cooperative Department and Mines And Minerals Department.

In the premises of the building, Industrial and Commercial Museum was established in 1950 which was closed in 1985 and The Library of Directorate of Industries was transferred in the Same place.

At the time of the emergenc of Pakistan, First Director Industries was Mr. Bashir Ahmad Qureshi who worked in the same Designation from 14-08-1947 to 07-01-1949. After this, important and well reputed Officers of Civil Services of Pakistan Qudrat Ullah Shahab, H.R.Pasha, Parvaiz Masood, A. Z. K. Sherdil and Safdar Javaid Syed served in the same designation.




Muhammad Sadiq Sheikh Flight Lt (R) Took charge of Ponch House as Director Industries from 01-09-2011 and started his efforts to save this Historical Heritage. At last, He succeeded to fulfill this Mission. '

Mughal Emperor Jahangir 's Tomb at Shahdara Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan

'Mughal Era Special'



All These Photographs are Of English/Urdu Commemorative Board And Great Mughal Times Beautiful Building Of The Mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Jahangir Located Inside Bagh-e-Dil Kusha at Shahdara, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The tomb was built and completed by Emperor Shah Jahan at the cost of one million rupees in 1637 A. D.

It is written in English on the Commemorative Board Erected at The Tomb of Emperor Jahangir.



'Jahangir 's Tomb'


'Jahangir the fourth Mughal Emperor Of India died in (1627 AD) at Rajauri on his way back From Kashmir to Lahore. He was buried in a spacious walled Garden of Empress Noor Jahan called Bagh-e-Dil Kusha at Shahdara on the river Ravi five kms North West of then city of Lahore. His tomb was built and completed by Emperor Shah Jahan at the cost of one million rupees in (1637 A. D). The garden Measures 1538 ×1538 feet. The tomb is Monument of surprising beauty and the finest ornament of Historical Lahore and is considered the most magnificent Mughal edifice in the Indo-Pak Sub-continent after the Taj Mahal at Agra. The tomb is a single storey structure, square in plan with about 267 feet, consists of a platform with tall octagonal corner towers and a projected entrance in middle of each side. The exterior side of the Monument, including the  The lowest stage of tower has a red sand stone facing with rich panels decoration inlaid with morble decorative Motifs. The four corner towers with white marble cupolas rise in five stages to a height of hundred feet with zigzag inlay of white and yellow marble. The building is divided into the series of vaulted compartment. The interior is embellished with floral fresco delicate inlay work pietradura and brilliant marble intarsia of various colours. The marble cenotaphs with its delicate and colorful pietradura is engraved with the ninety attributes of Allah. The tomb suffered much at the hand of Lehna Singh, one of three Haakims (Ruler) of Lahore before Ranjit Singh, Ranjit Singh also Stripped it of its choices ornament to decorate the Sikh temple at Amritsar. It was also used as residence of Amise an Officer of Sikh Army of Spanish Origin and Sultan Muhammad Khan, Brother of Dost Muhammad Khan of Kabul, which caused great damage to the  Mausoleum. British Government repaired it in 1889-90. Conservation Work continued with some intervals and is still in progress. '
